Each year we get the same feedback from our Quechee Parents - "Why Can't We Do That??"!  Well now you can! Join the Quechee Recreation Department for an adults only trip to the wild and scenic North-Woods of Maine to take on the mighty Kennebec River Gorge.
 
We will drive up on Friday Afternoon.  Our accommodations for the weekend will be one of the beautiful Northwoods Cabin's on the Northern Outdoors property.  These beautiful, natural log cabins are located along Martin Pond, just behind the lodge at Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort. Each North Woods Cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, private bathrooms, living room and dining area, cathedral ceiling and large outside deck. The cabins will comfortably sleep from 8 to 14 people - perfect size for our group!
 
On Saturday we will tackle the Kennebec River, these class III/IV rapids are sure to provide just the right amount of fun and excitement, come ready to get wet and have fun!  After our full day river trip we will return to Northern Outdoors to relax for the evening, and enjoy all the amazing amenities.  Including the Kennebec River Brewery onsite!  Pool and Hot-Tub, arcade, and more!

2018 Kayaking Trips

One of our most popular programs in Quechee is back for another fun-filled season! Join the Recreation Department as we bring our kayaks to the most pristine bodies of water in the Upper Valley. We have a mix of annual favorites and new bodies of water to explore! All trips are led by experienced guides for your safety and enjoyment. We require at least six participants for each trip.

Can’t join us on Tuesdays? Call the Recreation Department to set up a private trip for you, your family and friends!

Time: Depart Quechee at 9:00am unless otherwise noted
          Return time varies depending on location
Cost: Members $25  |  Non-Members $30
          includes kayak, paddle, life vest and transportation
Meeting Location: Base Lodge Parking Lot
Registration: Required by 5:00pm the day prior to the trip.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations to the event must occur before 5:00pm the evening prior or a $10 cancellation fee will apply. Cancellation policy does not apply if Quechee Recreation Department cancels the trip.

Highland Lake • Stoddard, NH

We liked it so much we had to go back this year! Highland Lake is a 712 acre lake located in southwestern, New Hampshire. This long, narrow lake has plenty of nooks to investigate and is always a favorite of our Quechee paddlers!

Moore Reservoir • Littleton, NH

Return to Quechee: 4:00pm
One of our farther drives, at one hour and 20 minutes, this trip takes us to one of the largest and most scenic reservoirs on the Connecticut River. At over 3,000 acres, we will only paddle a portion of this beautiful lake. This will be one of our top paddles of the season, so make sure to register early!

One of the best paddles in the local area! This trip will take us from the popular North Hartland Dam project to the bottom of the Quechee Gorge! Don’t forget your camera as there will be incredible views from the start to finish!

Another Quechee favorite is back! This body of water portrays a look at true wilderness. From the Algonquin word meaning Goose Lake, you will be sure to see plenty of wildlife.

Pleasant Lake • New London, NH

Return to Quechee: 4:00pm
Another lake worth revisiting again this year. At 606 acres, the lake offers a great deal of water for exploration. The hidden gem of this lake is "Blueberry Island", a favorite picnic spot with an abundance of wild blueberries and a great place to take a swim before or after lunch.

We'll start our journey at the bottom of Sumner Falls in Hartland, VT and end in Cornish, NH. You won't want to miss out on this exciting journey. We encourage participants on this trip to have previous experience, although it is not a requirement.

Chittenden Reservoir • Chittenden, VT

This 750 acre lake is a perfect paddle for the summer season. Cradled within the majesty of the Green Mountain National Forest, with over seven miles of underdeveloped coastline, this lake offers a cool respite as we make our way through the warm months. This will be an extended trip, plan on a later return!

Nestled at the base of 2,091 foot Roy Mountain, bountiful wildlife, shimmering waters and a view that is second to none lie ahead. We will first travel through the twists and turns of a nearby stream before heading around the lake.
