It is estimated that nearly 25 million individuals in the US suffer from chronic pain about 11% of the population. Chronic pain is defined as severe pain that persists for more than three (3) months. It is often intermittent, and it tends to adversely affect the general well-being of the affected person. Management of chronic pain involves a multidimensional approach beyond merely prescribing pain control medication which can cause significant problems such as addiction to opioids and severe side effects. This program will address some of the frequent causes of chronic pain and how a thorough integrative approach to this problem can lead to a more healthy and productive life. Also, you will learn how the Dartmouth- Hitchcock Aging Resource Center can help in many ways to assist you in obtaining wellness and support.
