It’s our claim to fame—Ski Quechee is Vermont’s friendliest place to learn to take on the slopes and winter terrain, from skiing to snowboarding and even Nordic skiing. For all skills and ages, fun and safety are always our top priorities.
The Quechee Ski and Sports School is a privately operated business contracted by Quechee Lakes Landowners Association (QLLA) with exclusive rights to provide instruction at Ski Quechee. Visit the Ski School in The Base Lodge.
Ski School is now closed for the 2023-24 season
Lessons are offered whenever Ski Quechee is open, generally Friday through Sunday throughout peak ski season, with additional availability during holiday and vacation weeks. Please refer to the hours of operation for specific dates.

The Ski School reserves the right to cancel lessons for any reason, including but not limited to changes in the State of Vermont's operation guidance, instructor availability or extreme weather.
What is the change of lessons and cancellation policy for Quechee Ski & Sports School?
Changes or cancellations can be made in advance of your lesson date by emailing the customer service email ([email protected]) with specific changes or cancellations to be made. A cancellation fee will be assessed for a guest when they cancel either a group or private lesson as follows:
- Any lesson that is cancelled prior to 48 hours will be assessed a $20 fee for each change or cancellation per lesson per person

Any lesson that is cancelled less than 48 hours before the lesson’s start will be charged fully.
- For those who are sick on the day of lessons, and we are notified after 7:15 per our policy, a $20 fee will apply and the remainder of the lesson fee will be applied to a future date within the season.
We know that weather and snow conditions vary, but if the resort is open for skiing/riding we will be providing lessons as scheduled and you will be charged fully for cancellations or assessed the change fee if moved to another time due to these events. On the off chance that Ski Quechee is closed, or QS&SS deems the weather too harmful we will make those announcements and charges will not be incurred. Thank you for your understanding.

Any lesson that is cancelled within 48 hours of the day of the lesson will be charged in full.
If you choose to cancel, please email email your reservation report back to us with the specific names, dates and times for the cancelation to [email protected].
Any change in lesson reservations will incur a service charge.
If the participant is sick or has symptoms, the Ski School will give credit for the lesson to be used sometime this season as long as we are notified by 7:15am the day of the lesson.
2023-24 Lessons & Rates
For ages 3½+
Private lessons are best when you’re looking for dedicated attention and focused instruction. Semi-private lessons are best for more capable skiers who require less one-to-one assistance.

Please note: We recognize that parents may want to participate in the instruction of their children. Semi-private lessons can be provided to a child with the adult present. However, this choice should be made carefully since younger children often have difficulty taking direction from the instructor when the parent is present.
Instructors will group children by age and ability into small, self-contained groups. We will take a brief break (usually outdoors) as needed.

*The ski school reserves the right to place children in the group that is appropriate for the individual before or during the lesson.
Group Lessons are appropriate for older children who can ride the lifts independently without the instructor, generally 8 years of age or older. Some may need to participate in private lessons until we can be sure they can ride lifts safely.
- Group Lessons - $110 Per Person

This program is for advanced parallel skiers who are pre-approved by the Ski School for all mountain activities. It is not designed for racing instruction. The Free Riders are an all mountain, multi-disciplined approach honing their skills on varied terrain with exercises that are appropriate for advanced skiers. This is a fun, fast-paced approach to skiing.
- Free Riders - $90 Per Person

- 9:30am - 11:30am
- 1:15pm - 3:15pm
Cross-country lessons are available on the days that Ski Quechee is open, if there is adequate snow on the designated terrain.
- $85 for the first person
- $40 for each additional person

Equipment Rentals
Henderson's Ski at The Base Lodge offers ski and snowboard equipment rentals for juniors and adults. Trained technicians keep the equipment meticulously maintained so you can enjoy every run. Stop in or reserve in advance.

Quechee Ski Team
The Quechee Ski Team offers children ages 7 to 18 the opportunity to participate in alpine ski racing while improving their technical skills. As a member of the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) and the Mid-Vermont Council of the Vermont Alpine Racing Association (VARA), the Quechee Ski Team participates in events with teams from other local ski areas. The Quechee Ski Team is privately organized and operated.
