Our Story
For more than 50 years, the Quechee Club has been recognized as Vermont’s premier private club, recreational lifestyle community and golf destination. Nestled in the foothills of the Ottauquechee River Valley, the first clubhouse construction was completed in 1974 and has since been the central focus for many QLLA community activities. The Club’s natural setting is a deep source of pride and focus for the Membership, honoring the beauty, the serenity and the original Abenaki inhabitants through its watchful stewardship of the land.
In 2011, Hurricane Irene devastated the Upper Valley with catastrophic flooding, the worse the state had endured since 1927. The beloved Quechee covered bridge and 27 of the Club’s 36 holes were destroyed. But the community came together to rebuild the assets to a condition even better than before. In 2015, the Club celebrated a re-grand opening of the courses, and the Membership credits the hard-working grounds crew and Committees who helped return magnificence to the Quechee Club once again.
In 2016, the Aquatics and Fitness Complex was renovated, followed by the locker room amenities in 2017. And in the spring of 2022, the Membership approved the first phase of a Campus Master Plan, set to transform the community’s amenity offerings and add housing for employees.
As it stands today, the Quechee Club is the result of our Members’ devotion, and since established, those who choose to make Quechee Lakes their home—for a short time or a lifetime—enjoy a fulfilling, safe lifestyle unique to the central Vermont and Dartmouth area.
Quechee Lakes Landowners Association
Representing the interests of the individuals who own a home site (lot), completed home or condominium in the Quechee Lakes community, Quechee Lakes Landowners Association (QLLA) was incorporated in February of 1970 to “hold, manage, regulate and maintain” the common land, image and amenities of the Association.
The Board of Trustees is the sole governing body of QLLA, with fiduciary responsibility to preserve and enhance the assets of the Association, its Members and the celebrated land on which QLLA exists. An advising council of Members make up the Review Board, facilitating adherence to Landowners’ property ownership and maintenance responsibilities, including construction and landscaping. Member-volunteer operating committees represent the diverse interests of the Membership, and advise the Board of Trustees in specific functions.
Property ownership automatically grants membership of Quechee Club. Renters or tenants, because they rent from a Member, are able to use the amenities for a fee while residing in our Association.
The Club
The heart of the QLLA community—the Quechee Club—is staffed by a management team and associates who manage and operate amenities and facilities on behalf of QLLA and under the guidance of the Board of Trustees, delivering the four-season recreational lifestyle that our more than 1,400 residents enjoy.
